ABOUT THE COURSE

Many adults with ADHD get overlooked, judged, and even marginalized. Emerging research continues to show ADHD is a wired form of neurodiversity that presents in a variety of ways in adults.  A disorder of self-regulation, ADHD, undiagnosed and thus untreated, leads to a myriad of problems such as increased rates of job loss, divorce, debt, addiction, and even early mortality. Unlike with children, there are no uniform US guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adults. Given the existing combination of misinformation and a lack of information, clinicians need evidence-based ways to better serve their clients.

This myth-busting presentation takes a deep dive into what’s really going on in the ADHD brain.

Explore the latest neuroscience illuminating how ADHD works, and focus on topics such as:

- Assessing and diagnosing ADHD

- Best practice and emerging counseling applications

- Medication: Myths, truths, fears

- ADHD Coaching: What it is, where it fits

- Emotional Regulation and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria

- ADHD as a form of complex trauma

- Under-served populations such as women and minorities

- ADHD and addiction

- ADHD and relationships

"Thank you! I appreciated Dr. Love's openness with his own journey with ADHD. He is so knowledgeable! Great info.” - K.B., Psychologist

"I have been in practice since 1996 and have been to a plethora of workshops at this point in my career. This is one of the best if not THE best that I have ever attended. I hope to attend the same one again b/c it was so content dense (which I LOVE) that I'm sure there was some info that I didn't absorb. The speaker was really wonderful and so knowledgeable about the topic. I am often a little disappointed in workshops sometimes as so many do not have enough substance. This workshop, however, was chock full of incredible info and I am so grateful to have taken it. Keep up the incredible work and I hope to attend another one again soon!” - A.R., PhD, LMFT

"Good topic and thorough research” - G.C., LCSW
